Breu nets 17 points to lead Auburndale girls basketball to win at Edgar

EDGAR – Liz Breu scored 16 points and Lindsay Gotz added 10 as the Auburndale girls basketball team won its fourth-straight game, a 49-33 victory over Edgar on Thursday night at Edgar High School.

The Apaches improve to 14-2 overall and 8-1 in the Marawood Conference South Division, remaining a game in back of first-place and undefeated Wausau Newman Catholic. Edgar falls to 8-6 and 4-5 in the Marawood South.

Seven different Apaches scored as Kelly Tomfohrde and Kayla Nikolay each added eight points.

Auburndale led 25-12 at halftime en route to the 16-point win and season sweep of Edgar.

The Apaches play at Wisconsin Rapids Assumption on Tuesday before playing at Newman on Feb. 11 as they try to grab a share of the Marawood South lead.
