MARSHFIELD – Marshfield won seven events and the team title at the Marshfield Tiger Boys Indoor Track & Field Invitational on Tuesday at the Fredrick Construction Fieldhouse at Marshfield High School.
Marshfield finished with 156.5 points to win the 14-team event. Stratford was fifth with 42 points, Auburndale eighth with 27 and Marshfield Columbus Catholic tied for 11th with 10 points.
Earning wins for Marshfield were: Monty Woltmann in the triple jump (40 feet, 11.5 inches); Jackson Anderson in the long jump (19-5) and 60-yard dash (6.65 seconds), Dirk Vanderwyst in the high jump (6-2), Beckett McFarlane in the 60-yard hurdles (8.21), Harland Meissner in the 220 (25.24), and the 4×160 relay team of Anderson, Meissner, Dillon McHugh and Gavin Larsen (1:12.64).
Larsen also finished second in the 60 hurdles (8.24), J.J. Steinbach in the high jump (6-1) and Woltmann was runner-up in the long jump (19-2.5) for the Tigers.
Isaac Scheer finished second in the 1-mile run in 5:00.44 and Nathan Scheer was eighth in the same race in 5:24.90 for Columbus Catholic.
William Akins took third in the pole vault (11-0) for Auburndale’s top finish, and Xander Curtice finished third in the high jump (6-0) for Stratford.
