Marshfield’s Hinson, Lee earn first-team honors on 2024-25 All-Wisconsin Valley Conference Boys Basketball Team

Marshfield senior Brooks Hinson was named Player of the Year for the second year in a row and was joined by fellow senior Landon Lee on the first team of the 2024-25 All-Wisconsin Valley Conference Boys Basketball Team, which was voted on by the seven conference coaches following the season.

Hinson was a unanimous first-team selection for the third year in a row as he led the Tigers to a perfect 12-0 record and a fourth-straight Wisconsin Valley Conference championship.

Hinson averaged 16.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game while shooting 51.7 percent from the field, 82.4 percent from the free throw line and 44.4 percent from 3-point range, making 80 triples overall as the Tigers finished 23-7 overall and was the WIAA Division 1 state runner-up. Hinson was also picked as the conference’s Defensive Player of the Year.

Lee knocked in 12.7 points per game with 54 3-pointers, and led the Tigers with 171 assists.

Hinson and Lee were joined on the first team by Wausau East senior Jesse Napgezek, Stevens Point senior Grant Chandonais and Wausau West senior Griffin Lange. Chandonais was also a three-time first-team all-conference pick, while Napgezek was named to the first team for the second year in a row.

Napgezek helped lead Wausau East to the state tournament in Division 2 after scoring 22.8 points per game and shooting at a 57 percent clip this season.

Chandonais topped Stevens Point in scoring at 18 points per game, while Lange averaged 13.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per contest for Wausau West.

Marshfield junior Valin Ramberg and senior Joey Ketterer were among the honorable mention selections.

Ramberg averaged 8.6 points and 4.4 rebounds per game, while Ketterer scored 6.7 points per game with 33 made 3-pointers, and was also a top defender for the Tigers this season.

Marshfield’s Chris Fischer was also named Coach of the Year in the conference.
