MARSHFIELD – Marshfield won three relays and edged Stevens Point by one-half point to take the team title at its home Marshfield Tigers Girls Indoor Track & Field Invitational on Thursday at the Fredrick Construction Fieldhouse at Marshfield High School.
The 4×440-yard relay team of Lily Adler, Ella Allar, Ella Joyce and Alana Schoen won in 4:48.64, 6½ seconds ahead of second-place Stevens Point, to clinch the victory for Marshfield in the final event of the meet.
Marshfield finished with 124 points, with Stevens Point second with 123.5. Stratford was fourth with 44 points and Marshfield Columbus Catholic took 11th among the 15 teams with nine points.
The Tigers’ 4×220 relay team of Hope Kelnhofer, Joyce, Emma Ridgway and Gracie Ridgway won in 3:10.32, and the 4×160 relay team of Kylie Laufenberg, Hailey Klumb, Hannah Ridgway and Ryann Kilty won in 1:26.52 for Marshfield’s other two victories.
Olivia Sommers was second in the long jump (13 feet, 11 inches) and the high jump (4-10), the 2-mile relay team of Natalie Schmitt, Taiya Lang, Delaney Neville and McKenzie Holm was second in 11:45.22, Abigail Cera took second in the shot put (31-9.5) and Lucy Luedtke was the runner-up in the 220 in 29.43 seconds to help Marshfield to the team title.
Stratford’s lone victory came from Emily Rundle in the triple jump (30-10.5) and Dawnyel Martin was second in the 440-yard run in 1:12.34 for the Tigers.
Audrey Waldhauser had Columbus Catholic’s top finish, taking fourth in the high jump (4-8).
Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s Kylee Beversdorf won four events for the Chargers, taking first in the long jump (14-1.75), the 60-yard dash (7.60 seconds), the 440 (1:05.94) and the 220 (29.09).
