Auburndale senior Blake Raab was named the Player of the Year and was one of five unanimous first-team selections on the 2024-25 All-Marawood Conference South Division Boys Basketball Team, as voted on by the six conference coaches following the season.
Edgar’s Leyton Schuett, Wisconsin Rapids Assumption’s J.T. Schlaefer, Marathon’s Drew Woelfel and Stratford’s Drew Bruesewitz were also unanimous picks to the first team.
Raab was named Player of the Year after scoring 18 points per game while shooting 49 percent from the field, 85 percent at the free throw line and 39 percent from 3-point range with 60 made triples as the Eagles finished second behind Marawood South champion Stratford and reached the WIAA Division 4 sectional finals.
Bruesewitz topped Stratford at 16.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game, shooting 51.7 percent from the field and 45.8 percent from 3-point range, making a team-high 49.
Schuett was Edgar’s top offensive threat, averaging 16.5 points per game with 55 made 3-pointers.
Schlaefer led Assumption at 19.5 points and 6.4 rebounds per game, while shooting 54 percent from the field and 42 percent from 3-point range with 41 made 3-pointers.
Woelfel led Marathon in scoring at 10.6 points per game, while pulling down 6.9 rebound per contest.
Auburndale’s Thomas Aue and Peyton Weinfurter, and Stratford’s Brooks Vanderhoof were among the five second-team honorees.
Aue averaged 8.3 points and a team-best 6.6 rebounds per game for the Eagles, while Weinfurter scored 9.2 points per game with 41 made 3-pointers.
Vanderhoof was second on the Tigers in scoring at 9.1 points per contest.
Auburndale’s Joshua Lundgren and Keegan Empey, and Stratford’s Kaden Foster and Riley Spindler were honorable mention all-conference selections.
Raab and Stratford’s Jett Schoenherr were among those picked to the All-Defensive Team.
Auburndale’s Chad Weinfurter and Stratford’s Curt Schmidt were named Co-Coaches of the Year.
