Marshfield Columbus Catholic junior Mac Konieczny was named Player of the Year and was one of six players chosen to the first team of the 2024-25 All-Cloverbelt Conference East Division Boys Basketball Team, as voted on by the eight conference coaches following the season.
Konieczny was joined on the first team by Spencer’s Sam Bezlyk, Colby’s Reed Fleischmann, Loyal’s Reed Stieglitz, Neillsville’s Andrew Hoeser and Owen-Withee’s Mason Gay. Gay is a senior while the other five first-pick picks are juniors.
Konieczny averaged 16.8 points per game for the Dons, who tied Owen-Withee for the Cloverbelt East championship, while making 88 3-pointers.
Bezlyk led the Cloverbelt East in scoring and rebounding at 23.4 points and 13 rebounds per contest for Spencer, which placed fifth in the conference with a 7-7 record.
Fleischmann topped Colby in scoring at 14.2 points per game, shooting 48 percent from the field and 84 percent at the free throw line.
Stieglitz averaged 12.9 points and 2.9 assists per game for Loyal, while Hoeser led Neillsville averaged 17.6 points and 7.6 rebounds per game with 56 made 3-pointers and 41 blocked shots.
Gay averaged 12.9 points per game for Owen-Withee.
Columbus Catholic sophomore Ben Weiland was selected to the second team as he led the Dons in 3-pointers with 94 and averaged 13.7 points per game.
Sam Dums of Columbus Catholic and Ben Felgner of Spencer were among the honorable mention picks.
