Marshfield girls soccer shuts out Rhinelander to earn first win of season

MARSHFIELD – Lauryn Katzenberger scored twice in the first half to help pace the Marshfield girls soccer team to a 3-0 win over Rhinelander in a nonconference match Saturday at Heiting Community Stadium.

Katzenberger scored in the ninth minute on an assist from Lauren Homolka and added another goal at the 30:05 mark to give the Tigers a quick 2-0 lead.

Hadlee Hall put the finishing touches on the Tigers’ win with a goal midway through the second dhalf at the 60:35 mark.

Payton Bremer had seven saves in goal for Marshfield (1-1).

Marshfield will play at Holmen on Monday at 4 p.m. before hosting Appleton North on Tuesday at 5 p.m. for two more nonconference contests.
