MAUSTON – The Columbus Catholic softball team stayed undefeated with a pair of wins at Woodside Sports Complex on Saturday afternoon.
The Dons defeated Florence 22-4 and Cumberland 8-7 to improve to 3-0 this season.
Shelby Spata continued her torrid start to the season, ripping a home run in each game a day after smacking two long balls for the Dons.
Abby Wojcik and Spata each had three hits in the win over Florence, with Wojcik driving in four runs and Spata three.
The Dons trailed 7-4 before scoring four times in the top of the seventh inning to pull out the victory over Cumberland.
Spata led off the rally with her fourth home run of the season, Ciena Adler singled in a run and later scored on a wild pitch to tie the game, and Katelyn Casperson drove in Izzy Holz with a one-out sacrifice fly to plate what proved to be the game-winning run.
The Dons will host Adams-Friendship at the Marshfield Fairgrounds on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
