Marshfield track combines for three runner-up finishes at Midwest Indoor Championships

RIVER FALLS – The Marshfield track and field teams combined for two top-five finishes at the Midwest Indoor Track Championships on Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

Gracie Ridgway took second in the girls high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 2 inches, and Devyn LeMoine added a runner-up finish in the pole vault (9-6) for the Marshfield girls, which finished fifth in the team standings as it had 16 top-10 finishes.

Gavin Larsen took second in boys 60 meters for the Marshfield boys, running in 7.17 seconds.

Also earning top-five finishes for the Marshfield girls were the 1,600 relay team of Lily Adler, Hailey Klumb, Natalie Scharenbroch and Ella Joyce (third, 4:24.99), Gracie Ridgway in the 200 (fourth, 26.98), Natalie Schmitt in the 3,200 (fifth, 13:07.19), and the 800 relay team of Emma Ridgway, Gracie Ridgway, Lucy Luedtke and Hannah Ridgway (fifth, 1:54.12).

Taiya Lang was sixth in the 3,200 (13:13.67) and Scharenbroch was sixth in the 1,600 (5:30.81) as well for the Tigers.

J.J. Steinbach took fifth (6-0) and Larsen seventh (5-10) in the high jump, Marshall Neve was eighth in the 3,200 (10:27.94), and the 3,200 relay team of Lincoln Berger, Neve, Kashton Kilty and Hector Zimmerman finished eighth in 9:15.48 for the Marshfield boys.
