Marshfield boys basketball player Landon Lee has been voted the Schierl Tire and Auto Service High School Athlete of the Month for March.
MarshfieldAreaSports.com & Zaleski Sports co-sponsor the award, which is in its 12th year.
Varsity athletes from the following high schools are eligible to be nominated for the award, which will be given out monthly from September 2024 through June 2025: Abbotsford, Assumption, Auburndale, Colby, Columbus Catholic, Edgar, Granton, Greenwood, Loyal, Marathon, Marshfield, Mosinee, Neillsville, Owen-Withee, Pacelli, Pittsville, Port Edwards, Spencer, Stratford, Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln.
Lee received 1,750 of the 3,720 votes cast during voting from April 1-7 at MarshfieldAreaSports.com.
Other nominees for the March award were: Wisconsin Rapids Assumption girls basketball player Jordyn Jaglinski, Stratford softball player Laney Pankratz, Auburndale boys basketball player Blake Raab, Owen-Withee girls basketball player Kendall Weiler and Edgar softball player Grasci Yonker.
Lee, a senior point guard, was integral and helping the Tigers reach the WIAA Division 1 state finals. Lee scored 19 points in a regional semifinal win over Appleton East on March 7 and added 12 and masterful ball handling in a sectional semifinal victory over Eau Claire Memorial on March 13. In the state tournament finals against Wisconsin Lutheran, Lee was one fire, scoring a game-high 22 points on 9-for-12 shooting and 4-for-6 from 3-point range, in the Tigers’ two-point loss. Lee was a unanimous first-team all-Wisconsin Valley Conference selection.
Lee joins Abbotsford football player Christian Fuentes (September), Stratford volleyball player Kalyn Schueller (October), Marshfield girls basketball player Zaida Kolbeck (November), Spencer boys basketball player Sam Bezlyk (December), Auburndale girls basketball player Myah Katzenberger (January) and Marshfield wrestler Ava Gardner as a winner of the Schierl Tire Athlete of the Month award during the 2024-25 school year.
