THORP – Tyler Peterson tossed a five-inning one-hit shutout as the Spencer baseball team rolled past Thorp/Owen-Withee 12-0 in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division opener Tuesday at Thorp High School.
The Rockets (3-0 overall) scored in all five innings, including four times in the second inning and five times in the fifth to win via the 10-run rule.
Peterson struck out 13 without a walk to pick up the complete-game win for Spencer.
Spencer only had five hits as it used four Thorp/Owen-Withee errors and 14 walks to cruise to the win.
Dalton Post had two hits and Zack Roehrborn finished with three RBI for the Rockets.
Spencer will play a nonconference game at Pittsville on Friday.
