AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale baseball team finally hit the field to start its 2025 season and rolled to a 12-2 nonconference win over Phillips on Friday at Auburndale High School.

After Phillips scored twice in the top of the first inning, Auburndale responded with three runs in the bottom of the frame, added five more in the third and put the game away with a four-run fifth, ending it via the 10-run rule.

Blake Raab threw a five-inning complete game for the Eagles, striking out 10 without a walk, He also had two hits and three RBI.

Nathan Richardson had three hits and drove in three, while leadoff hitter Peyton Weinfurter went 3-for-3 and scored three times for Auburndale.

Auburndale will host Wisconsin Rapids Assumption to start its Marawood Conference South Division season on Monday.
