PITTSVILLE – Spencer scored four times in the sixth inning to overcome a three-run deficit and defeat Pittsville 5-3 in a nonconference baseball game Friday at Pittsville High School.
The Rockets trailed 3-0 before getting their offense going in the sixth. Reed Knecht had an RBI single, Carter Luepke drove in two with a single and another scored on Pittsville’s third error of the inning to put Spencer in front.
The Rockets added another run in the seventh on a sacrifice fly by Wes Nieman and Tyler Peterson got the final out with two runners on in the bottom of the frame to save the win for Drake Johnson, who threw 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief.
Knecht and Kayden Dietsche each had two hits for Spencer (4-0).
Spencer will play a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game at Jack Hackman Field in Marshfield against Columbus Catholic on Monday at 5 p.m.
