NEILLSVILLE – Spencer/Marshfield Columbus Catholic had one runner-up and five third-place finishes to take fifth at the Cloverbelt Conference Wrestling Tournament on Saturday at Neillsville High School.
Kyle Andrea was the lone Rocket to reach the finals, and he lost a heartbreaker, falling 4-2 in overtime to Tyler Hartung of Neillsville.
Neillsville won the team title with 260 points, well ahead of second-place Abbotsford/Colby, which had 182. The Warriors had six individual champions and three others finish second.
Trevor Ackman (119), Luke Mahoney (125), Aaron Dunbar (160), Lance Neuman (171) and Tyler Bodendorfer (189) won their third-place matches for Spencer/Columbus. The Rockets’ Brady Zais (130) and Rudy Neiman (140) took fourth.
Spencer/Columbus will participate in the WIAA Division 3 regional tournament next Saturday at Cadott.
