WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Wittenberg-Birnamwood scored two runs in the different innings and defeated Stratford 7-1 in a nonconference softball game Friday at Lincoln High School.
Stratford had seven hits, including two each from Dakota Knetter and Gracie Krummel, but only mustered one run as it falls to 3-3 this season.
Kendall Lex went the distance for the Chargers (3-3), striking out four without a walk. She also knocked in three runs.
Stratford will host Wausau Newman Catholic in its Marawood Conference South Division opener on Monday at 4:45 p.m. at Hilgemann Field.
