WAUSAU – For the second day in a row, the Stratford baseball team dominated offensively and rolled past Newman Catholic 16-3 in a Marawood Conference South Division game Tuesday at Brockmeyer Park.
The Tigers scored in all five of their at-bats and finished with 15 hits to sweep the two-game conference series, and improve to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the Marawood South.
Stratford hit three home runs as Jack Tubbs, Vance Kielman and Brady Berg went deep. Berg finished with five RBI and Kielman had three in the victory.
Christian Rehm struck out 11 over four innings to pick up the pitching win and also knocked in two runs for the Tigers.
Stratford will host Gilman for a nonconference game Thursday at 4:45 p.m.
