WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Gabby Neilitz and Annabelle Ross homered as Wisconsin Rapids downed Marshfield 9-6 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference softball game Tuesday at Lincoln High School, ending the Tigers’ three-game winning streak.
Kristin Radtke had a two-run double and scored on a single by Rachel Linzmeier in the bottom of the first inning to give the Raiders (6-1, 2-1 WVC) a lead they would never relinquish.
Marshfield got as close as 5-3 before Wisconsin Rapids scored four times in the bottom of the sixth to finish off the win.
Madilynn Cole had a pair of doubles and Lillian Griesbach also had two hits for the Tigers, who fall to 7-3 and 1-1 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference.
Marshfield hosts Wausau West on Thursday at Madison Field beginning at 5 p.m.
