EAU CLAIRE – The Marshfield girls soccer team settled for a 1-1 tie with Eau Claire North in a nonconference matchup Tuesday at Eau Claire North High School.
Lauryn Katzenberger scored off a direct kick 13:05 into the game to give the Tigers a quick lead.
The advantage held until 8:46 into the second half when North’s Julie Lemanski knocked in a crossing pass from Mariah Hall to knot the score at 1-1. Neither team was able to break the tie the rest of the way.
Marshfield outshot North (1-0-2) 10-4.
The Tigers (1-3-2) will host Stevens Point for the Wisconsin Valley Conference opener for both teams on Thursday at Heiting Community Stadium at 7 p.m.
