Auburndale softball scores early, wins at Assumption

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Auburndale scored three times in the opening frame and went on to defeat Wisconsin Rapids Assumption 4-1 on Tuesday, earning a split of the two-game Marawood Conference South Division softball season at Assumption High School.

Danika Blomberg drove in two runs with a double in the opening inning and knocked in another with a single in the fifth to pace the Eagles, who are now 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the Marawood South.

Morgan Griesbach earned the pitching win for Auburndale, striking out five and allowing just four hits in seven innings of work. She also scored twice.

Auburndale will play a nonconference game at Spencer on Thursday.
