Marshfield boys, girls each finish second at Wisconsin Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Invitational

STEVENS POINT – The Marshfield boys and girls teams each finished second at the 2025 Wisconsin Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Invitational on Tuesday at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Stevens Point won both team titles as the boys finished with 176 points and the girls with 141 points, which was just one-half of a point better than Marshfield. The Marshfield boys finished with 117 points.

Earning wins for the Marshfield girls were Natalie Scharenbroch in the 800 meters in 2:30.04 and Emma Ridgway in the high jump with a leap of 5-0. Scharenbroch outlasted teammate Adeline Lonsdale for the 800 title by 1.4 seconds, and also took second in the 1,600 (5:23.54) for the Tigers.

Gavin Larsen picked up a pair of wins for the Marshfield boys, taking first in the 60-meter dash in 7.21 seconds and the the 200 in 23.36 seconds. Ethan Knecht won the boys shot put with a toss of 56-3, Joshua Steinbach was first in the high jump (6-2), and Steinbach teamed with Jackson Anderson, Dillon McHugh and Harland Meissner to win the 800 relay in 1:36.35.
