Marshfield boys golf wins home tournament

MARSHFIELD – Magnus Machtan birdied three of the final four holes, including the last two, to secure a two-stroke win for Marshfield at its home Marshfield Tiger Boys Golf Invitational on Tuesday at a windy RiverEdge Golf Course.

Machtan tied teamed Keegan Fredrick with 82s to tie for fourth individually and help the Tigers finish with a team score of 336, two shots better than D.C. Everest. Prentice was third with a 348 at the seven-team event.

Eliah Harding of Prentice won medalist honors with an 80, one stroke ahead of D.C. Everest’s Ben Zoesch and Stevens Point’s Jackson Schroeder.

Afton Hamill and Saket Kanchireddy both shot 86, and Camden Kolstad had an 88 as well for Marshfield.

Marshfield’s next meet is at the Sand Valley Invitational on Tuesday, April 22.
