SPENCER – Auburndale used a four-run fourth inning to overcame a two-run deficit and went on to defeat Spencer 12-3 in a nonconference baseball game Thursday at Spencer High School.
The Rockets took a 3-1 lead in the third inning when Austyn Widman hit a solo home run, Zack Roehrborn walked with the bases loaded, and Dalton Post knocked in a run with a sacrifice fly.
Auburndale (4-0) immediately struck back with four runs in the top of the fourth on RBI singles by J Anderson and Josh Lundgren, a Spencer error, and a bases-loaded walk to Ava Soppe.
The Eagles finished off the win with a seven-run seventh inning.
Peyton Weinfurter had three hits and scored three times, and Lundgren, Blake Raab and Ayden Raab all drove in two runs for Auburndale.
Reed Knecht had two hits for Spencer (5-2).
Auburndale will host Wausau Newman Catholic on Monday, while Spencer is back in action Tuesday at home against Gilman.
