MOSINEE – The Marshfield softball team was shut down for six innings and dropped a nonconference game to Mosinee 7-1 on Monday at the Mosinee Athletic Complex.
Mosinee (9-2) scored in four of its six at-bats to open up a 7-0 lead before Marshfield pushed across its only run in the top of the seventh on back-to-back doubles by Madison Kraus and Rhyan Costa.
Ava Busse threw a complete game for Mosinee, striking out eight without a walk.
Marshfield (7-5) will be right back in action Tuesday with a Wisconsin Valley Conference game at undefeated D.C. Everest starting at 4:30 p.m.
