Auburndale softball slams Newman Catholic

AUBURNDALE – Danika Blomberg had four hits and five RBI to help lift the Auburndale softball team to a 19-3 rout of Wausau Newman Catholic in a Marawood Conference South Division game Tuesday at Auburndale High School.

Newman Catholic was the home team as wet grounds in Wausau forced the game to be moved to Auburndale.

The Eagles scored eight times in the first two innings and finished off the game via the 10-run rule with a nine-run sixth.

Myah Katzenberger earned the pitching win, scattering six hits over six innings,and also had three RBI for Auburndale (7-3, 3-1 Marawood South).

Mya Krings scored four times, and Breleigh Grimm, Taylor Anderson and Daelynn Blomberg all had two RBI in the win for the Eagles.

Auburndale is back in action Friday at Chequamegon.
