THORP – The Columbus Catholic baseball team scored eight times in the second innings and cruised to a 12-0 win over Thorp/Owen-Withee in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division matchup Wednesday at Thorp High School.
Mac Konieczny threw four innings of one-hit ball and Devlin Timmler struck out the side in the fifth to finish off the shutout as the Dons (8-2, 2-1 Cloverbelt East) won in five innings due to the 10-run rule.
Brock Weiland had two hits and drove in four runs, and Carson Eckes had a single, a triple and an RBI to lead the way for the Dons offensively.
The two teams will play again Thursday at Jack Hackman Field in Marshfield at 7 p.m.
