Gilman rallies to defeat Spencer baseball in extra innings

GILMAN – Gilman came back from a late deficit to defeat Spencer 6-5 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division baseball game Thursday at Gilman High School.

The Rockets led 5-3 after scoring a run in the top of the seventh, but Gilman (7-2, 3-0 Cloverbelt East) tied the game with a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh, and eventually won it in the ninth on an RBI single by Dawson Grunseth.

Tyler Peterson went 4-for-5 with an RBI, and Kayden Dietsche had two hits and drove in two runs for Spencer (5-4, 2-3 Cloverbelt East).

Spencer will host Stanley-Boyd for a nonconference game Friday starting at 5 p.m.
