Second-half run pushes Rib Lake past Spencer boys basketball

SPENCER – Rib Lake held Spencer to 32 percent shooting and used a strong second half to beat the Rockets 48-39 in a nonconference boys basketball game Monday night at Spencer High School.

The game was tied 18-18 at halftime before Rib Lake outscored the Rockets 10-5 in the third quarter and 20-16 in the fourth.

Daniel Petkau had 25 points and nine rebounds to lead the Redmen (12-5).

Steven Gilboy had 18 points and six rebounds for Spencer, which falls to 8-9 on the season.

Spencer hosts Greenwood on Thursday.
