Four Apaches hit for double figures as Auburndale boys basketball wins again

AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale boys basketball team seems to be hitting its stride at the right time.

The Apaches put together another great offensive game, shooting 48 percent on its way to a dominating 60-40 win over Loyal in a nonconference game Tuesday night at Auburndale High School.

Austin Hawkins scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Auburndale to its eighth-straight victory as it improves to 16-2 on the season. Loyal falls to 4-12.

C.J. Castellano had 12 points and six assists, and Cole Weiler and Jake Hansen each scored 10 points for the Apaches.

Auburndale is at Pittsville in a Marawood Conference South Division game on Thursday.
