WINONA, Minn. – Four area high school graduates competed for their respective college track and field teams at the St. Mary’s Cardinal Invitational on Friday.
Marshfield High School graduate Sean Harrington, a junior for the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, won the men’s 3,000 meters in a time of 8:43.20.
Jena Weigel, another Marshfield grad, competed in three events for the La Crosse women’s team. She placed third in the 55-meter hurdles (9.54 seconds), sixth in the triple jump (33 feet, 4½ inches) and 10th in the 200 (28.86).
Lily Golbach, a Stratford High School graduate, won the 600 meters for Winona State University. Golbach ran in 1:42.42, winning the race by 0.2 seconds.
Molly Schmitz, a freshman from Marshfield, was 11th for La Crosse in the 200, finishing in 28.91 seconds.
