The Marshfield boys and girls basketball teams each won close nonconference road games on Tuesday night.
The Marshfield girls team improved to 17-3 with a 50-46 win at Altoona (14-6).
The Tigers boys (16-5) beat Holmen (11-10) 50-44, improving to 16-5 with their second straight victory.
Both teams will play in a girls-boys doubleheader on Thursday at Wisconsin Rapids. The girls game starts at 5:45 p.m., with the boys game to follow at 7:30 p.m.
The game is the boys final regular-season game of the season. Marshfield will open its WIAA Division 1 playoffs schedule with a regional final on Saturday, March 5.
The Marshfield girls, who already clinched the Wisconsin Valley Conference title for the fourth straight season, will wrap up its regular season on Thursday, March 3, at Merrill. The girls playoff brackets will be announced Sunday.

Taylor Varsho led the girls with 23 points in their victory. She did most of her damage from the free-throw line, making 10 of 16 shots. Eleni Seitz added 15 points and Alyssa Brenner had nine points and eight rebounds, making all six of her free-throw attempts.
In all, Marshfield was 24-for-34 at the free-throw line, enough to overcome a 11 of 33 shooting performance from the field.
