WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield boys golf team opened its 2011 season with a dual meet at the Ridges Golf Course, dropping the match 322-346.
Michael Josephson opened with a front-nine 35 and finished with a 79 to finish third overall and lead the Tigers.
Aaron Bravick and Joe Ritchay led all golfers with 78s for Wisconsin Rapids. Brady Goska added an 80.
“Michael Josephson started the season on fire as he birdied the first three holes on his way to a front nine score of one-under par 35 only to struggle on the back nine to miss medalist by one stroke,” Marshfield coach Paul Foegen said. “Brandon Brown turned in a solid round improving on the back nine and birding the last hole. Evan Schneider also turned in a solid round, except one bad hole and finished with three pars.”
Marshfield is scheduled to play at the Wisconsin Dells Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
