MARSHFIELD – Marshfield had three golfers finish in the top 15 and had its best showing as a team thus far in the Wisconsin Valley Conference Tournament, placing fourth on its home course of Riveredge Golf Course on Tuesday in the sixth leg of the seven-event tournament.
Michael Josephson had an 81, Craig Serchen shot an 82 and Brandon Brown had an 84 for the Tigers, who scored a 337 and finished fourth. The Tigers remain in fifth overall in the team standings with the final leg scheduled for Friday at Stevens Point Country Club.
Evan Schnedier added a 90 for the Tigers.
Stevens Point won the team title with a 305 and remains in first place overall. The Panthers can clinch the team championship by placing fifth or higher Friday on their home course.
Matt Sandquist of Wausau West on individual medalist honors by shooting a one-over par 73, one shot ahead of Stevens Point’s Trevor Thomas and two in from of the Panthers’ Joe Sommers. Thomas is one point ahead of Sandquist for the lead in the individual standings.
