Ivacic tosses two-hitter to lead Spencer baseball past Columbus Catholic

MARSHFIELD – Spencer pitcher Phil Ivacic tossed a complete-game two-hitter, lifting the Rockets to a 9-0 win over Marshfield Columbus Catholic in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division baseball game Tuesday night at Jack Hackman Field.

Spencer took the lead with a run in the second inning, added four more in the third and scored a pair in the fourth and sixth innings to improve to 7-5 overall and in the Cloverbelt East. Columbus drops to 4-12 overall and in conference.

Ivacic struck out 12 and walked two in the complete-game victory.

Alex Larson took the loss for the Dons, striking out two, walking four and allowing nine hits.

Spencer plays at Neillsville on Thursday, while the Dons host Owen-Withee at 4:30 p.m. at Hackman Field.
