Marshfield graduate Andie Varsho named to All-Big Ten softball team at Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Andie Varsho, a 2010 graduate of Marshfield High School, wrapped up her freshman season on the Purdue University softball team by leading the Boilermakers four offensive categories and being named to the All-Big Ten team.

Varsho batted a team-best .426 (69-for-162), led the Boilermakers in doubles (12) and triples (five) and tied for the team lead with 34 stolen bases.

She was named to the All-Big Ten Third Team after finishing fifth in the conference in batting average, sixth in hits (69), tied for fifth in doubles, and tied for third in triples and steals.

Varsho, who mainly played right field, did not commit an error in the field, finishing with 33 putouts and four assists.

She finished second on the team with 30 RBIs and was third with 30 runs scores.

Varsho, the four-time Wisconsin Valley Conference softball batting champion and recipient of 11 varsity letters at Marshfield (tennis, softball, basketball), helped Purdue to a 30-18-2 record and an 8-9-1 mark in the Big Ten.
