MARSHFIELD – Owen-Withee scored the game-winning run in the top of the seventh to edge Marshfield Columbus Catholic 11-10 in a back-and-forth Cloverbelt Conference East Division baseball battle Thursday at Jack Hackman Field.
Owen-Withee scored twice in the first inning and led 6-1 before Columbus stormed back with eight runs in the middle three innings to take a 9-6 lead.
The Blackhawks scored four in the sixth to take a brief lead before Columbus tied it at 10-10 with a single run in the bottom of the frame.
Owen-Withee scored a single run in the top of the seventh and the Dons couldn’t muster another in the bottom, losing their second game in a row to fall to 4-13 overall and in the Cloverbelt East. The Blackhawks improve to 7-9 and 6-8 in conference.
Brandon Nikolai and Mike Iwanski each went 3-for-4 with a double, and Paul Selz also had a double for the Dons.
Columbus plays at Neillsville on Monday.
