The Marshfield Chaparrals baseball team beat Hortonville 9-8 on Friday before dropping a 10-0 decision to the Appleton Legends on Saturday.
In the win on Friday, the Chaps scored a pair of runs in the eighth inning to overcome an 8-7 deficit and pull out the victory.
Dylan McHugh, Justin Moroder, Justin Rayburn and Chuck Brehm each had two hits for Marshfield in the victory. McHugh had a pair of RBIs.
Kyle Krohn gave up two runs in the seventh but earned the victory. Eric Pritzl tossed a pair of shutout innings to gain the save.
Marshfield was ousted from the NBC Tournament in Menasha on Saturday by Appleton.
The tournament was continued from last weekend.
Cain Trunkel was roughed up for the Chaparrals, giving up 10 runs, nine earned, 10 hits and seven walks in 4 2/3 innings. The game was called due to the 10-run rule when Appleton scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth innings.
Moroder had Marshfield’s only hit in the game.
Marshfield hosts its final two games of the season this week. The Chaparrals play Plover on Wednesday and Menomonie on Friday. Both games are at Jack Hackman Field and start at 7:30 p.m.
