MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Tennis Association hosted the Marshfield Open Tennis Tournament on Saturday and Sunday at J.D. Boson Courts.
Men’s, Women’s and Co-ed preliminary rounds were held Saturday morning. After a two-hour delay due to rain, play resumed until rain ended play early Saturday evening. The remainder of the quarterfinal matches, along with semifinal and championship matches took place on Sunday.
Overall, there were 44 participants in six divisions.
Singles champions were awarded trophies and free entry into next year’s tournament. Doubles champs were awarded with the new MTA water and free entry into next year’s tournament.

Men’s A singles (12 players)
Championship: Erik Krohn (Oshkosh) def. Ryan Coleman (Marshfield) 6-4, 6-0.
Consolation bracket: Jeff Eisberner (Marshfield) def. Ryan Weichelt (Eau Claire) 7-6, 6-0.
Men’s B singles (4 players, round-robin)
Champion: Matt Kollmansberger (Marshfield) 2-1 record.
Women’s singles (7 players)
Championship: Holly Reckner (Marshfield) def. Elizabeth Manlick (Marshfield) 6-2, 2-6, 6-4.
Consolation bracket: Megan Hayes (Marshfield) def. Nikki Hertel (Marshfield) 6-1, 6-1.
Co-ed 15-and-under singles (6 players)
Championship: Nick Reckner (Marshfield) def. Cole Wesolowski (Marshfield) 2-6, 6-2, 10-3.
Consolation bracket: Derek Reckner (Marshfield) def. Hanah Gadke (Marshfield) 2-6, 6-2, 10-7.
Women’s doubles (6 teams)
Championship: Lynette Pupp (Stratford) and Theresa Hahn (Marshfield) def. Megan Hayes and Amy Ott (Marshfield) 6-3, 6-2.
