AUBURNDLE – Jake Hansen scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lift the Auburndale boys basketball team to a 46-36 nonconference victory over Iola-Scandinavia on Monday at Auburndale High School.
The win is the Apaches’ seventh straight and improves their record to 13-5. Iola-Scandinavia falls to 7-11.
Auburndale was able to build a double-digit lead, 26-15, by halftime and held off the Thunderbirds as they missed five of nine free throws in the fourth quarter.
Tyler Pankratz made five of six shots from the field and scored 11 points, and C.J. Castellano added 10 points and five rebounds for the Apaches. Auburndale made 19 of 37 shots from the field and had 10 steals.
Auburndale returns to Marawood Conference South Division action Thursday at Wausau Newman.
