Marshfield sophomore football team drops first game of season

FOND DU LAC – The Marshfield sophomore football team lost its first game of the season Saturday, falling to Fond du Lac 24-21.

Keiron Howlett had touchdown runs of 14, 72 and 12 yards and finished with 330 yards rushing on 22 attempts for the Tigers.

Craig Zalizniak, Zach Meissner and Mitch Ott were the leading tacklers for Marshfield, with Zalizniak, Craig Serchen and Ian Pillai each earning a sack.

Luke Mahoney had a fumble recovery for the Tigers and Matt Oestrich and Daulton Varsho each had interceptions.

Marshfield (3-1) plays at Neenah at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
