STRATFORD – The Stratford football team showed no ill effects after suffering its first loss of the season a week ago.
Stratford poured it on early behind a dominant running game and cruised past previously unbeaten Marathon 67-46 in a Marawood Conference game Friday night at Tiger Stadium.
Travis Urlaub scored five touchdowns in the first half – four rushing and another on a pass from Nolan Bargender – to lift the Tigers to the win.
Derek Austin returned an interception for a touchdown as well for Stratford.
Stratford, which lost a nonconference game to Osseo-Fairchild last week, improved to 4-1 overall and 4-0 in the Marawood. Marathon falls to 4-1 overall and in the conference.
