Spencer volleyball whips Gilman for 7th Cloverbelt win in a row

GILMAN – The Spencer volleyball team won its seventh straight Cloverbelt Conference East Division match, ripping Gilman 25-14, 25-8, 25-12, to improve to 7-1 in conference play and 27-6 overall.

Tara Matter had nine kills and five aces, Courtney Schulz added eight kills and seven blocks, and Kyleigh Hebert served up 18 assists for the Rockets.

Dani Johnson again led the Rockets’ defense with 19 digs. Paige Johnson added 11 digs and two blocks.

“We were not at the top of our game, but we played well enough to win,” Spencer coach Buff Heller said. “Courtney Schulz really controlled the net play. Gilman had no answer for her tonight.”

Spencer hosts Greenwood on Thursday in its final Cloverbelt East matchup of the season.
