SPENCER – The Spencer volleyball team started its season with a loss to eventual champion Owen-Withee, but since then have been unstoppable in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division.

Behind 12 kills and three blocks by Courtney Schulz and eight kills from Tara Matter, the Rockets wrapped up their regular season with their eighth straight Cloverbelt East win as they beat Greenwood 25-16, 25-14, 25-19, on Thursday night at Spencer High School.

“What a great way to celebrate Senior Night,” Spencer coach Buff Heller said. “The girls played so hard to get this win. It took a real solid effort to beat a good Greenwood team. Dani Johnson and Alicia Endreas played awesome defense all three games.”

Faythe Bauer, Krystal Weier and Kyleigh Hebert each had a pair of service aces, Hebert had 26 assists and Johnson (18) and Endreas (16) combined for 34 digs on defense.

Spencer will play in a second-place Cloverbelt Conference crossover match on Tuesday against a team to be determined.
