STRATFORD – Travis Urlaub needed just 13 carries to rack up 216 yards rushing and three touchdowns, leading the Stratford football team to a 28-13 win over Chequamegon in a Marawood Conference game Friday night at Tiger Stadium.
Jake Guyer added a touchdown run on his only carry of the game to lift the Tigers to the win, improving their record to 6-2 overall and 6-1 in the Marawood. Chequamegon falls to 1-7 and 1-6 in the Marawood.
Stratford piled up 230 yards rushing in all as Eli Temanson added 66 on nine carries.
Drew Spaeth completed both of his passes in the game for the Tigers for 29 yards.
Chequamegon gashed Stratford’s defense for 257 yards rushing, 124 from Kevin Jean, but turned the ball over twice with interceptions.
Stratford wraps up its regular season next Friday at Rib Lake/Prentice.
