EAU CLAIRE – Sophomore Rebecca Voss finished 13th in 20:40.36 to lead the Marshfield girls cross country team to a sixth-place finish at Eau Claire Memorial’s Old Abe Invitational on Saturday at South Middle School.
Voss finished just 3.16 seconds out of a top-10 spot.
Junior Leah Cherney took 35th for the Tigers in 21:44.13.
Adam Voss and Nolan Redetzke again led the Marshfield boys. Voss finished 16th in 17:17.33 and Redetzke was 18th just one second behind.
The Marshfield boys finished seventh overall.
D.C. Everest won the boys title with all five of its runners finishing in the top 12. Hudson’s Ryan Kromer won the meet in 15:55.37.
The Hudson girls won by sweeping the top three spots, led by Katie Wetzstein’s win in 19:09.78.
Marshfield will compete in the Wisconsin Valley Conference Meet next Saturday in Stevens Point.
