FOND DU LAC – The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County men’s basketball team opened its season going 1-1 and finishing second at the UW-Fond du Lac Tip Off Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
The Marauders defeated UW-Fond du Lac 49-42 on Friday to reach the championship game, which they lost to Fox Valley Technical College 85-76 on Saturday.
Jake Scheppler scored 21 points in the opening game and had a team-high 31 points in the championship game for the Marauders.
Cullen Haldeman added 15 points and Leo Braun chipped in 12 points for UW-Marshfield in the loss Saturday.
The Marauders are back in action at home at 3 p.m. Saturday against UW-Washington County.
