Stratford uses six forfeits to beat Auburndale in wrestling opener

AUBURNDALE – Stratford took advantage of a depleted Auburndale roster with six forfeit wins in a 58-16 Marawood Conference wrestling dual meet Thursday night at Auburndale High School.

Stratford and Auburndale split the eight matches that were wrestled, with Stratford winning three by pin.

Ryan Adank (106 pounds), Matt Krall (113) and Kellen Bornbach (160) won by pin for the Tigers.

Auburndale’s Paul Willfahrt (126) and Kyle Kundinger (132) won by decision, Wyatt Weiler (138) won by major decision and Trevin Oertel had a pin.

Stratford’s other win came by major decision from Dondrick Tackes at 182.

Stratford hosts its annual tournament on Saturday and is at home again next Thursday against Nekoosa. Auburndale is back in action on Dec. 8 at Chequamegon.
