MARSHFIELD – Jake Akin posted the lone victory for the Marshfield boys swim team in a 102-68 loss to Wausau East on Thursday night at Marshfield High School.
Akin won the 50-yard freestyle in 24.36 seconds for his first varsity victory. He edged East’s Andrew Pitney by nine-tenths of a second.
Finishing second for the Tigers were Michael Josephson in the 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke, Tom Stevning-Roe in the 200 individual medley, Akin in the 100 freestyle and Aaron Scheets in the 100 backstroke.
Billy Brebrick and Mitch Straub were double winners for Wausau East. Brebrick won the 100 breaststroke and the 200 IM, and Straub won the 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly.
Marshfield is at the Chippewa Falls Invitational on Saturday.
