KRONENWETTER – Auburndale made quick work of Northland Lutheran, using a 22-2 first quarter to blast the Wildctas 67-31 in a Marawood Conference South Division boys basketball game Tuesday night at Northland Lutheran High School.
Austin Hawkins scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Apaches in their season and conference opener.
After an even second quarter in which each team scored 12 points, the Apaches blew the game open even further with a 23-6 advantage in the third.
Markus Kleifgen and Cale Weiler each scored 11 points and Blake Anderson had a team-high nine rebounds for Auburndale.
The Apaches host Edgar on Friday.
