MARSHFIELD – Devon Klement (113 pounds), Ian Gaertner (145) and Justin Sternweis (182) each won by pin as the Marshfield wrestling team outlasted D.C. Everest 42-36 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference match Thursday night at Marshfield High School.
Brandon Baltus (152) won 11-5 and Mitch Zillman (195) won 5-2 for the Tigers, who improve to 8-6 overall and 1-2 in the WVC. D.C. Everest falls to 0-4 in the Valley.
Marshfield also won three matches by forfeit – Aaron Sternweis at 120, Kane Seubert at 170 and Brad Schroeder at 285.
The Tigers host Edgar and Tomah in a triangular meet Friday at 5 p.m. at Marshfield Middle School.
