GILMAN – Tara Matter scored 16 points to lead three Spencer players in double figures as the Rockets whipped Gilman 45-19 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game Tuesday night at Gilman High School.
Spencer used a 15-5 second quarter and an 8-2 advantage in the third to pull away from the Pirates and improve to 7-2 overall and 5-2 in the Cloverbelt East. Gilman remains winless at 0-8 and 0-7 in the conference.
Krystal Weier added 13 points and six rebounds, and freshman Marisa Johnson had a season-high 10 points for the Rockets.
Spencer held a 27-17 rebound advantage and held Gilman to just seven baskets in 32 attempts.
The Rockets host Greenwood on Friday.
